To Associate Linkages

  1. Place a fence around a whole or part of a design file that contains shapes and centroids.
  2. From the Topology Creation toolbox, select the Associate Linkages tool.

The Associate Linkages tool settings window opens.

  3. From the Associate Linkages tool settings window’s Mode option menu, set one of the following options:

Centroid —> Shape — copies the database linkages from centroid elements to shape elements.

Centroid —>Boundary — copies the database linkages from centroid elements to boundaries.

Shape —>Centroid — copies the database linkages from shapes to centroids.

Boundary —>Centroid — copies the database linkages from a boundary to its centroid.

After creating a shape, select Centroid —>Shape to associate the area’s database linkage to the shape.

  4. Enter a data point to accept the fence.

Shortly, the linkages are associated. A results window opens to show the number of associations made.
